As I go for my walks every day either before sunrise or with the shorter days, after sunset, I find myself looking up most of the time. The early morning sky on a clear day is filled with twinkling stars and as I look up all I can do is be in awe and wonder. There’s a sense of anticipation and excitement for what the world holds and how I’m a part of it all. I don’t know exactly how the day will unfold or my life but I’m okay with that because I know I’m advancing in the direction of my purpose.
This is much the same way my sculptures evolve into being. I do much more listening than anything for the particular message the sculpture and I would like to present. That’s why I think of my sculptures as my messengers, radiating their energy in unique ways to each viewer. While each person may see something different than I see, what excites me the most is that they feel the sense of my intention and that has no words.
The alabaster piece you see in this post is called "Celestial Form" and it's surely inspired by my looking up. I would love to hear how it makes you feel.
